De-Construction of Water Tower at Bowery Bay
WPCP—Queens, NY for NYC Environmental Protection
(NYCDEP):
AEG provided de-construction details/procedures and obtain approvals from
NYC Department of Buildings - Crane & Derricks and
BEST. Additionally AEG provide site safety and
inspection during de-construction of 110’-0” high
steel water tower at Bowery Bay WPCP, Queens, NY
Scope of work included:
- Calculation of the loads to be lifted in three phases and selection of the
crane type with boom length required to carry these loads.
- Verified if crane’s operation load is within the allowable bearing pressure
at each boom swing radius; crane stability for wind load during lifting; design
lifting system; develop demolition procedure; stages of demolition with crane
lifting radius etc.
- Prepared drawings and calculations to obtain NYCDOB-Crane & Derrick
approval.
- Prepared Site Safety Plan for BEST approval.
- Provided expediting services to obtain approval from NYCDOB-C&D & BEST.
- Provide Site Safety & Inspection during de-construction of steel water
tower.
