A/E Design & Construction Support Services for New 10,000 SF Mezzanine Floor at Parsippany, NJ for United Parcel Service (UPS):

AEG provided engineering design and construction administration services for new 10,000 sft mezzanine floor inside the UPS facility in Parsippany, NJ.

Construction was planned and executed in phases to avoid any closing of operation during construction.

The scope of Structural, Electrical & Fire sprinkler design work included:
  • Planning and designing of new mezzanine floor inside the existing facility for new conveyor system. The mezzanine floor consists of web joists supporting on steel girders and steel columns.
  • Designing was based on IBC 2006 NJ edition that includes Accessibility requirement, Means of Egress, Access Travel Distance, Lighting and Fire sprinkler under mezzanine floor.
  • Coordinated with conveyor system to provide steel stairs for an access to mezzanine floor
  • Provided concrete foundation and other connection details.
  • Prepared drawings for township of Parsippany approval.
  • Provided Construction Drawings & Specifications
  • Provided Construction Administration and Controlled Inspection

Scope of services included:

Phase 1 – Review of Existing Documents & Field Inspection;
Phase 2 - Schematic Design/Design Development;
Phase 3 – Development of Contract Documents;
Phase 4 - Bidding & Contract Award;
Phase 5 - Construction Administrations /Monitoring; and
Phase 6 – Close-out.
